MEET THE CHARACTERS
Each Pinapel and Friends™ character also has a pet. The pets are animal cacti hybrids pictured below.
I started doodling the Pinapel and Friends™ characters over 10 years ago, and in that time, they have evolved tremendously into the illustrations you see today. I wanted to create something whimsical, weird, personal, and helpful - something that people could also relate to. Pinapel And Friends™ is a cute and playful LGBTQIA2S+ inclusive world created to inspire self-love, self-care, and self-acceptance, to affirm gender identity and gender expression while changing the narrative around the use of gender pronouns.

THE PRODUCTS

Pinapel And Friends. Who Are They? Picture Book
Pinapel And Friends. Who Are They? introduces readers to the cute and whimsical, LGBTQIA2S+ inclusive world.
The story is about Pinapel (they/them) who has moved into a new neighborhood and no one has seen them yet. Not assigning a gender, the neighbors refer to Pinapel as they, them, and theirs as they all ask questions to try to figure out what the new neighbor will be like.
The book also includes a guide for parental units, teachers, and readers as well as provides resources for learning more about the use of pronouns.
Affirmation Decks
Be Brave Affirmation Deck
A full-color deck of 64 illustrated cards with affirmations and mindfulness practices for well-being improvement and maintenance. One side of the card has an affirmation and on the other side, Pinapel (they/them) shares their thoughts about that affirmation with you.
Be Sassy Affirmation Deck
A full-color deck of 64 illustrated cards with affirmations and mindfulness practices for well-being improvement and maintenance. One side of the card has an affirmation and on the other side, Strawbry (she/her) shares her thoughts about that affirmation with you.
How to use: Flip through the deck, select the card you are drawn to, and keep the message in mind as you go about your day. Repeat daily or as desired.
The photos of the picture book and affirmation decks are mockups and I'll be sharing videos from the manufacturer of them in production and the samples on social media.

ABOUT TINSY THOUGHTS™ & ME
Hi! My name is Rowena. I use she/they pronouns. I am a weird human with a computer, a few too many pencils, pens, and far too much paint. I've been an artist for most of my life. Creating unique characters that inspire positivity and make a difference in the world has always been my passion. I made the big leap into ARTrepreneurship with the launch of Tinsy Thoughts™ in January 2021. I founded Tinsy Thoughts™ with one goal: "to help people see their beauty and worth." I believe in the power of love, self-love, and self-expression.
Tinsy Thoughts™ strives for positivity in all aspects of life - from empowering individuals through thoughts, words, and actions, to providing gender expression and identity resources for anyone who may need them.
This is my first time doing a Kickstarter-backed project in order to bring my creations to life.
It means so much to be able to share the Tinsy Thoughts™ world with you. My hearts smiles when I am able to make you smile with my creations, and I have lots more to come (for Pinapel and Friends™ and my other world of Thought Monsterz™ shown on the right side of the image above)!
I write, design, and draw everything myself, while running the Tinsy Thoughts™ business from my living room, kitchen, and garage with the help of my partner Ang.
